This 82 Corvette was purchased a couple of years ago by the current owner, as part of a Covid collection buy.
Unfortunately some physical issues have prevented him from enjoying this Corvette and a couple of other cars in the collection, so it's time to move them on.
When he purchased this car is had come from questionable long term storage.
She was cleaned up but hasn't even been seriously detailed in that time frame.
The original Charcoal Metallic paint shines beautifully, however, she would look a lot better with a good cut and buff and ceramic coat. The Silver Gray leather interior is also in very good condition, but there are some loose ends again due to the long term storage. The CrossFire Injection allows the L83 350 V8 to fire right up and she runs great. The car was sold to this current owner with the understanding that there are only 25,000 miles on the odometer. Based on the paint, and the under carriage, I'd say that is correct. There are some little flaws on the interior that I feel are more from the storage and age than mileage, so we'll go with 25,000 miles but true mileage is unknown.
What we know of her history is that she was built at the Bowling Green plant and was ordered with AC, cruise control, tilt wheel, leather interior, power windows, power locks, rear defrost, mirrored glass T-Tops, power mirrors, aluminum wheels, power steering, 4 wheel power disc brakes and 4 speed OD automatic transmission.
From the front to the back, there is some minor paint flaking on the very tip of the nose and a couple of scratches on the left side of the nose cone, other than that, only a couple of very minor chips in the paint. The right side headlight bucket appears to have been replaced.
Under the hood sits the venerable 350 Chevy small block and in this incarnation puts out about 200 horse. All looks tidy under the hood, but the brake master cylinder is rusty and the AC doesn't work. She does have new tires, a new alternator and a new battery.
The Silver Gray interior is in very good condition, however, her time sitting has caused some of the cardboard under the carpet on the center console and the back of the seats to pull away just slightly. She could still use a deep clean on the interior but overall she presents very well. The power locks do not work, the left window moves slowly but still works and the left power mirror operates sporadically.
The mirrored T-Tops are in great condition and reportedly do not leak.
The under carriage is where she shows how little mileage is on her, aside from the center link and tie rods that have surface rust, almost everything else is clean and rust free.. heck, most of the frame is still so clean you could shine it up and eat off it. There is no rust/rot on the frame, the birdcage or in the rear wheel wells. The doors open and close tightly with no drop indicative of inner hinge issues.
The main issue that has not been addressed is the brakes.
In the time she was parked in this owner's garage, she developed a leak in the brake system and the owner doesn't want to put any more money into her at this point in time, so she's being sold in this current condition.
As previously mentioned, she starts very easily runs awesome and drove great as well. She'll need the brake work done to be fully drivable, the other little bits can be handled a little here and there over time as the new owner wishes.
This is a beautiful, low mileage Corvette, that if she had these little bits taken care of would be a low to mid twenties car. The owner is just ready to let her go and is asking $15,000 for her.
Questions, to schedule to meet her in person or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thanks for the interest.
