2 Owner, 1969 Lincoln MK III

Back in his youth, the current owner of this beautiful MK III, was smitten by the MK II as a very good friend of his had one. They would go cruising all over the place in the big comfortable ride.

He has lots of memories of that. They're all the more poignant as several years out of high school his friend passed away and his mom sold the MK III. A few years later, he decided he was going to get one in his friend's honor. In 1994 he found this one owner, stunning example. It had been reportedly sitting for a bit, but with a jump, it started right up.

He has cared for the car almost like a child.

The engine runs great, it drives wonderfully, like the big boat that it is... 18 feet worth of dark burgundy paint and matching, plush, leather seats. Aside from the right front fender and hood paint, and regular wear items, this car is original. Only 45,000 miles.

Under the hood is clean and original, the massive Ford 460 pushes out 365 HP and 485 lb ft of torque. That is ample to move the MK III up to a top speed of approximately 130 MPH and keep it cruising at 80 without batting an eyelash. It sports a 4bbl carb and true dual exhaust. Cruise control, power brakes, power steering, AC, auto dimming, hidden headlights, auto darkening rear view, 8 way power seats, FM stereo, intermittent wipers, power windows, power antenna - everything except the rear windows, works as it should. The AC was charged in 2025 with R134 however, there is a small leak in the system and it's not blowing as cold as it was the owner reports. The paint is so deep you can almost fall into it. There are some minor chips/nicks here and there that have been touched up and a small area of crazing on the passenger door. These are the character traits of a nearly 60 year old original car. The interior is like a 70's era lounge, dark red leather sofas and just as comfortable. Very good condition throughout.

The underside of the car is in great shape as well, no rot and just some minor surface corrosion.

The tires, Hankook Optimo, 235/75/R15 are wrapped around the original turbine style hubcaps also in beautiful condition. Tires were replaced in 2019.

Other "newer" parts include front suspension bushings, water pump, belts, heater core, fuel tank (was pulled, cleaned and recoated), shocks and mufflers/muffler back exhaust. The owner doesn't recall doing the brakes, but they may have been replaced, even if not, they only have 45K miles on them and they stop this almost 5K lb monster with ease. Discs in front and drums in the back.

In his 30 years of ownership, this owner has only put about 10,000 miles on the car.

Obviously not driving her enough and now, after downsizing his house, he's decided that this one needs to find a new home.

Excellent original condition, great running and driving , deep original paint, she's a real stunner.

The asking price is 28,000, which is somewhat negtiable.
