The Porsche Boxster is one of the best driving cars on the planet.
That coming from someone who is not really a Porsche fan.
I am not the owner, I am assisting the owner in selling this great machine.
The IMS Bearing Has Been Done, about 1500 miles ago.
The CarFax shows 7 owners, however, the first one was a dealer, based on the 3K miles and less than 5 months of ownership. The second owner added maybe 5000 miles. (This was all in the same area of South Carolina, serviced at the same dealership)
The third owner really drove the car and had it serviced regularly, putting 42,000 more miles on the car. The 4th owner moved her to CT and was owned for less than 3 months, so this may be a dealer as well. The 5th owner had her for less than a month, but amassed 2000 miles. The 6th owner did the opposite and owned her for 8 years but added only 19 miles.
In 2017, the current owners won her at a church raffle and have added nearly 5000 miles. As they own multiple recreational cars and daily drivers, this shows that they liked the car and drove it rather often.
As the owners are getting older, they have decided to thin the heard of some those "fun, weekend" automobiles and this base Boxster is one of them.
Weighing in at only 2700 lbs and having a flat 6 that hits 217 HP/192 lb ft of twist, paired with a 5 speed manual trans, means 0-60 times in the 6 second range and with a very neutral 50/50 weight balance, this is one VERY FUN car to drive. The balance means great handling characteristics and the Goodyear Eagle F1 tires (205/50/ZR17 F - 255/40/ZR17 R) mounted to the optional 17" wheels, means this car absolutely sticks to the road.
This car seems like it was optioned as a driver's car, not a comfort cruiser. Cruise control, power seats, power windows, power mirrors, power soft top, power rear wing/deflector, Becker 6 speaker stereo/CD system and of course, the standard AC, power steering and the Porsche branded 4 wheel power disc brakes.
The interior (Casmere leather) is in very good condition with only some minor wear on some of the often touched knobs. The Guards Red paint is unfortunately the least attractive aspect, in terms of quality. The paint is very bright and shiny, very Red and at 10' looks stunning, however, there are quite a few travel chips along the rear air inlets, it also wears a clear bra and the adhesive has given up in a place or two allowing grime to get under it and lastly, an errant stone from the riding mower hit the garage window and shattered glass sprayed down upon the rear deck lid, causing several more chips (all of which are noted in the photos).
As mentioned previously, this car is an awesome driver and with only 69,958 miles and a new IMS bearing, has MANY years of enjoyment ahead for the next owner.
Despite the paint flaws, that don't detract one iota from the driving experience, (and with a quality paint correction would pretty much disappear) this is one helluva an automobile.
The owners are asking $20,000 for her.
